UPDATE 4/9/2012
Mignon (Minnie) is currently under going accupuncture with Dr. Kathy Mitchener.  This is helping her mobility and pain issues.  She is doing much better, but will not be a candidate for adoption out of the Memphis area.

FOSTER UPDATE 3/5/2012
Miss Minnie has really blossomed.  She loves to trot around with her other house mates.  This is a great change from the growling at them at the beginning.  She likes to spend some of her evening time grooming them!  It is wonderful to see her join in.  She is definitely the matriarch – a wonderful change from being a loner. At first Minnie wouldn’t eat very well and only soft food.  Today, she joins the others in the kitchen and eats her senior food at a record pace.  She is adorably sweet and I am hoping her quality of life will grow with each day.

FOSTER UPDATE 2/7/2012
Mignon went to her foster home after having several teeth removed because they were so bad.  She is doing so much better, but this precious girl has been so traumatized and is finally learning what it is like to live in a home where she is loved and well cared for.  She had a terrible upper respiratory infection but with good meds and TLC she is feeling so much better.   She is beginning to come out of her shell and even got her first bath at her foster home.  Watch as this sweet girl turns into a beautiful swan.

INTAKE REPORT 1/25/2012
Mignon is one of those heartbreaking stories.  Her owner passed away and his family cared nothing for her and were going to take her to the shelter.  A neighbor didn't want that to happen so took her even though they could not care for her.  She stayed in the back yard for several months where she became more and more depressed.  Finally a local rescuer heard of her plight and contacted MAGRR.  She is so matted and dirty, but that will all soon change.  She is very gentle and loving and warms up once she knows she is with someone who will love her.  Her history is not clear, but one thing is for sure - her future is bright.  She will get "the works" at our clinic and the attention and good nutrition that will make her feel better.  The love she will receive goes without saying.  She is one of those "old souls" who touches your heart.
