MAGRR's Bridge-Kids

Although our mission is to rescue and rehabilitate Goldens, there are times that MAGRR can do very little, but offer them love and show them kindness.  Rescue means different things for different dogs.  To these listed here, their rescue was to let them go peacefully and send them on with love.

We'll see you at the Bridge, kids!

MIDAS

1998-06/09/08

Midas

It is with great sadness that we had to let sweet Midas go to the Rainbow Bridge this morning.  His wonderful foster Mom, Laura and Phyl, Dr. Mangum & Julie all helped this boy to spread his wings.   He was very content as he slipped off to meet other Goldens.    There was nothing that we could do for him except help him to the Bridge.  He had 2 wonderful months with Laura and her 3 Goldens.  He will always be remembered as the special boy that he was.

Dakota

This sweet girl was so afraid of thunderstorms and no one could keep her safe until our wonderful foster family came along and get her a home.  She has a great year and was well loved.  Alas, she developed a brain tumor and is now running free of pain with all of the other MAGRR Dogs who have gone before her.

God Speed Sweet Angel Girl!

Warm light coming from far below,
Twinkling, sparkling is the candle's glow.
All is well up on the ridge,
The place we know as Rainbow Bridge
.

God Speed Sweet Louise & Amy!

Louise and
Amy

It is with a sad heart that we had to say goodbye to sweet little Louise and Amy. They succumbed to a bacterial infection which they caught because no one bothered to immunize her Mom leaving the puppies without immunities.  They ended up with distemper, too.  Our vets tried very hard to save them, but they were too weak.

LADY

You were lost and all alone,
and MAGRR came your way.

 You were given a name
and a foster home,

You were no longer a stray.
A beautiful girl with a shiny coat
and a warm place to stay.

God knew it was time for you to
feel safe before he sent you
on your way.

Love Gerry, Tim & Heather

A SPECIAL LADY

We had to day goodbye to Lady on 4/18/08 due to a brain tumor.  She was loved by her wonderful foster family and all of the staff at our clinic who attempted to save her.
God Speed Sweet Girl!!!

Cared-for by her wonderful Fosters who loved her till the end
4/15/08

We wish we had you back again,
to fill this empty space.
But one day we'll be together
in a far, far better place.

Heidi and Family

BLAIZE

Dearly loved by all who met her.

She is now truly an Angel

Another needless loss to the dreaded distemper which is so easily prevented with a shot.

MAGRR mourns each and every loss of these precious jewels that are placed in our care even for a brief time.

Mickey
Adopted by the Angels

"You seemed to be saying,
Im ready you see
I
m off to a better place
God has waiting for me

Where the sky is so blue
And each day I will play
Running free with no pain
And warm, soft places to lay

But I wanted to thank you
For my last days
You were there always to see me
I knew you did care

From a poem by
Katherine Glankler

1/15/08.  We had to say goodbye to our sweet little Mickey.  He had a Mass Cell Cancer that was removed and sadly returned.  When our doctors told us that it was incurable, the wonderful Foster family. the Strongs, gave him love and comfort for his last months and as long as he was comfortable.  They were with him as he passed over to the Rainbow Bridge and loved him right to the end.

God speed sweet Angel and God Bless all of those who fought so hard to save him. He is pain free and has all 4 legs and is running free!

Gibson

Sadly we had to say goodbye to our sweet "Gibby."  Because someone didn't bother to give him a very simple and inexpensive vaccination, he came down with that dreaded distemper.  Gibby fought so hard and had overcome so much, but this was too much for him.  He began to show neurological signs and the heartborken vets knew we had to do the ultimate rescue and relieve him of his suffering.  He was loved by all of the staff at our vet clinic and also by his kind and giving Foster Family, the Jeffreys, who allowed him to stay with them and know love for his last weeks.  Please say a prayer for them as they are so very sad.

Timmy

Timmy fought so hard to overcome the distemper that he caught because he was not protected by his original owners.  He lost that battle on 10/24/07. His wonderful foster family loved him dearly and gave him such great care.  At least he had love those last months with them.   Go in peace sweet boy.

Grace

Grace became sick last week and even though we feared the worst, her wonderful foster family and our doctors tried to save her.  She just couldn't fight off that terrible distemper which is so easily prevented.  We had to say good bye to this precious girl.  God Speed Sweet girl.  She is now one of God's angels.  Please keep her foster family in your prayers.

Jeffrey

We had devastating news today about this very sweet ole guy.  Jeffrey suffered a stroke today and was exhibiting signs of pain due to complications of chronic  renal failure.  We had already determined that he was a hospice case, but we were hoping that he would have a few months.  Sadly we had to say goodbye to him.  He will be sorely missed by those who came to know and love him.  God Speed sweet boy!

Banjo

Banjo came to use already feeling poorly.  He didn't make it because his previous owners failed to vaccinate him against the deadly but very easily preventable distemper.  God speed sweet boy and we will see you again.  You were loved before you took your journey. You are now pain free!

Buck

We wish that could have saved you, but we know that you are frolicking and having a great time at the Rainbow Bridge.
