MAGRR's Bridge Kids

Return to Main Page

These are our special kids whom we were unable to save.  We gave them love while they were with us and tried to do all that we could for them.  When it became obvious that we could not help them, we did the ultimate rescue and sent them to the Rainbow Bridge and took away their pain.  They will be waiting for us!!!

God Speed Sweet Hearts

Waverly
November 7, 2007

This precious girl came to us from the streets having been hit by a car.  She had a dislocated hip.  We took her to the specialists where her hip was fixed and so we began her recuperation.  After about 4 weeks, she started to show signs of pneumonia.  Unfortunately is progressed and she was diagnosed with Distemper which we believe she was exposed to prior to coming to us.  With all of the trauma, her immune system just wasn't strong enough to fight off this terrible virus.   Our vet tried desperately to save this special girl, but it was not to be.   She went to the Rainbow on November 7,2011.  She will always be remembered by her fabulous Foster family who gave her love and comfort for the time that she was with them.  She will have many people to wait for and at least she knew love.    She was such a very special little girl.
Our hearts are truly broken over her loss.

This wonderful precious boy was in a high kill shelter in Arkansas.  MAGRR was able to get him only to discover that he had bone cancer which had metastasized to his chest.  The only thing we could do was give him a week of love and devotion.  Once again one of our special foster families took him into their home and hearts.  He is now pain free and romping with the other MAGRR Goldens who have preceded him.

Lacey

This precious girl came to us because it was thought that she had a fungal infection in her sinuses.  It turns out that she had Squamus Cell Carcinoma.  We had to say goodbye to her on September 2, 2011, as her time had come.  She enjoyed the last weeks of her life with a wonderful and special Foster Mom.  We love you Courtney.

Rest in peace sweet one until we meet again.
Zetta

This precious girl was left tied to a local shelter.  She was extremely thin.  MAGRR took her in and it was discovered that she had a liver disease.  There was nothing that could be done for her except feed her special food which her fabulous hospice foster did for her.  She loved live for several months.  She swam in the swimming pool, played with the other goldens and just loved life.  On August 12, 2011, she took a turn for the worse and we had to say good bye.  She now has a family that she will be waiting for at the Rainbow Bridge.

Fly with the Angels Precious girl!!
Sadie Nicole

Sadie Nicole came to MAGRR with a tumor on her ovary.  It was removed and turned out to be a rare cancer.  Sadie went to a wonderful hospice home where she enjoyed several weeks of love and loved life.  Suddenly Sadie had a bleeding tumor in her sinuses which we think was actually the primary site for her cancer.  There was nothing that could be done so on August 11, 2011 we had to say good bye to this sweet girl.

Rest in Peace sweet Angel until we meet again
Maggie Rae
It is with great sadness that we have to tell you that our sweet Maggie Rae passed away on Monday, May 30, 2011.  She was doing fine awaiting for her foster Mom to pick her up when she suddenly became very ill.  Our vet immediately came to check on her and after several test including ultrasound, it was discovered that she had a large tumor on her liver.  She went to sleep on her own and our vet and one of our techs were with her.   She did not die alone nor was she in pain.  Rest in peace sweet Angel Girl.  This is the part of rescue that is so hard to take.

Callie Jo
Sweet Callie Jo was taken to Med Vet on Saturday (11/20/2010) with multiple Grand Mal Seizures.  She was sedated to stop the seizing; but by Sunday morning it was determined that she could not come out of the coma.  She passed gently to the rainbow bridge.  Her foster family gave her the very best life for her final months.  She had a swimming pool, other dogs for company and all of the toys that she could possibly want.  She loved them and they her.

God Speed Sweet Girl until we meet again!!!

OTIS

2/19/2009
It is with great sadness that we had to let Otis go to the rainbow bridge today.  He had been feeling so badly and his bloodwork indicated that he was in kidney failure.  There was nothing that we could do for him, but send him so that he would not be in pain.  This is the hardest part of rescue.  We want to save them all, but we have to be satisfied that we at least gave several weeks of love.  He was in one of our very special foster homes and they took such great care of him.  His special foster Mom was with him as he crossed the rainbow.  God speed sweet boy!!!  You were loved by all of us.

This precious boy was dropped off at a local high kill shelter without even leaving his name.  MAGRR knew that he was very ill and had a severe case of heartworms.  We wanted to do our best for him and we did.  He got some time in a loving home and a group of people who truly cared.  We know that he is waiting for us at the Rainbow Bridge.
